“Dixit”הוא משחק פשוט שילדים ומבוגרים יכולים לשחק וליהנות בו. כל תור “מספר סיפורים” שונה בוחר קלף מידו ונותן רמז. הרמז יכול להיות משפט, שיר או כל דבר שאר השחקנים בוחרים קלף אחד מידם שהכי מתאים לרמז שאותו מספר הסיפורים המציא., מספר הסיפורים מערבב את הקלף שלו (שממנו הוא בחר להמציא את המשפט)יחד עם הקלפים שניתנו לו ולאחר מכן מניח אותם באקראיות עם הפנים כלפי מעלה, והשחקנים האחרים מנסיים לנחש מהוא הקלף של מספר הסיפורים.

המשחק הינו גם הרחבה וגם משחק העומד בפני עצמו
